Bro. Scott Davis
Scott has been the pastor of Fayette First Baptist Church since 2006. He is married to Nikki, and they have four children: Tre, Quinn, Elizabeth, and Micah. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, Master’s degree from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, and Doctoral degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys hunting and fishing, and working with his hands. Scott is passionate about preaching, missions, and workplace ministry.
A great verse that inspires Scott is John 3:30 “He must become greater, and I must become less.”
Lowden joined us in August of 2019! He and his wife Grace, came over from Dallas, TX where Lowden graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Camp/Sports Leadership. He was in youth ministry for 3 years before Grace was offered a full ride to the University of Alabama for her Masters in Vocal Performance, bringing them to Fayette, AL by God's will!
Lowden loves the Dallas Cowboys and Star Wars. He enjoys gaming, watching movies with Grace, and playing with their Blue Heeler pup: Cooper. He has a passion for encouraging students and leading them to grow closer to Jesus Christ.
Lowden's favorite verse is:
Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Director of Music Ministries
Sheila has been Music Director at Fayette First Baptist Church for four years. Donald, Sheila, and their Yorkie - Allie Grace moved to Fayette when Donald took the position of hospital administrator at Fayette Medical Center. They have one son, Wade and wife Jennifer, and three grandsons Cole, Turner, and Carson.
Prior to joining us, she was the Music Director at Hamilton United Methodist Church. Sheila began playing the piano for church when she was in the fourth grade, and played piano and organ at various churches for forty years before directing.
Sheila enjoys the lake, wakeboarding, reading, and spending time with family.
Her favorite Bible verse is found in Isaiah 26:3 “So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting rock….the Rock of Ages.” (Amp)
Bro. Tommy Smith
Senior Adult Minister
Tommy joined the staff at Fayette FBC on October 20, 2019. He and his wife Pam, a retired Special Education Teacher, reside in Fayette where Tommy was born and raised. He has worked in several areas of ministry, including pastoral work. He graduated from the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, TN. Tommy has a heart to see souls saved and to encourage God's people to grow in their walk of faith.
He is the father of two children. His son, Brad, is a Retinal Surgeon. He lives in Clayton, MO with his wife, Elizabeth, and two children Bradley and Kathryn. He also has a daughter, Dwan Madden who has two sons, Logan and Luke. Dwan is a Supervisor at Fayette County DHR and is married to Jeremy Madden, Principal at Fayette County High School. They also live in Fayette and attend Fayette FBC.
Tommy enjoys hunting, fishing and camping but most of all spending time with his four grandchildren.
Tommy's favorite Bible verse is:
Psalm 91:2 - "I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in Him I will trust.
Susan lives in Fayette with her husband, Steven. They met while attending the University of Alabama in 1979 and married in 1985. In 1986, they moved to Fayette, joined Fayette FBC and have loved serving here ever since! Their daughters are Mallory and Camden, who are both married. Abby, Levi, Owen and John Parker are their grand-kids and greatest blessings from The Lord.
From 1997-2012, Susan worked at Fayette FBC Preschool as a teacher and then as a director. She then started at Fayette FBC as the part-time Children’s Director. These jobs have been perfect for Susan as Jesus and children are her joy.
Susan’s favorite verse is John 16:33, which gives her great comfort when the world is overwhelming.
John 16:33 – “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”
Deborah Fields lives in Millport with her husband, Greg. They were high school sweethearts and were married in December, 1976. Deborah and Greg have two daughters; Jennifer Fields Humber ( Kenny) and Jessica Fields Lollar (Craig). They have four grandchildren; Maci Humber, Dexx Humber, Zane Lollar and Jace Lollar.
Deborah serves Fayette First Baptist Church as Church Financial Secretary. She enjoys serving the Lord by serving others, especially her children, grandchildren, family, church family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, listening to southern gospel music and watching hallmark movies. She is still amazed as to how God loves us so much and that He gave His only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross, paying for our sins.
One of her favorite bible verses is 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Stacey joined the staff at FFBC in November 2018. She was active in the insurance business for 31 years working in Vernon, Fayette and Tuscaloosa. Coming back home to Fayette was a blessing and she’s enjoying her work here at FFBC, whether it’s the staff or the members. Stacey is happy in this new chapter of her life.
Stacey is married to Keith Cannon and they have four children, Josh and Jamie Thomas, Brad and Truman Cannon, and two grand children: Carter and Addie Thomas.
